TAFE Queensland

Institution Overview

TAFE Queensland was established in 1882 as a vocational training college in Brisbane, Australia. In 2015, six institutions—TAFE Brisbane, TAFE Gold Coast, TAFE East Coast, TAFE North, TAFE South West, and TAFE SkillsTech—merged under the name TAFE Queensland, now offering courses in approximately 600 different fields.

Since the 1940s, the Queensland Government has aimed to meet the country’s demand for technically skilled professionals by establishing institutes like TAFE Queensland. Its goal is to train a workforce ready to enter the job market directly. Today, the institution has grown to become the largest in Queensland, collaborating with around 7,800 companies and organizations, and hosting over 14,000 international students.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INSTITUTION:

-While studying vocational subjects, students receive continuous hands-on training under the guidance of mentors.

-After completing their main course, students have the opportunity to continue their studies for 1.5 to 2 years at Australia’s leading universities and graduate with a bachelor’s degree.

-Even if students do not have an official English proficiency test score, they can choose from TAFE’s own English language programs or those offered by partner colleges.
