Freie Universität Berlin, commonly known as FU Berlin, is a public research university established in 1948. The university offers a wide range of academic programs and is particularly strong in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and medicine.

With the exception of a few specific programs, Freie Universität Berlin does not charge tuition fees. Students are only required to pay a set semester fee each term.
As a result, the university does not offer regular scholarships. However, in exceptional cases, non-German international students may be eligible for limited financial aid in accordance with specific regulations.
