Institution Overview

The Australian National University (ANU) was established in 1946 and is the only university created by the Australian Parliament. It originated from the Canberra University College, which was founded in 1929.

The university is located in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, and is a public research university and a member of the Group of Eight. Its main campus in Acton includes several national academies and institutes, as well as seven teaching and research colleges.
